On Tuesday, journalist Javier Matallanas from AS published a story saying that both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are interested in the Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso.
The article claimed that the player would be available for €30m. In our coverage, we pointed out that the amount seemed too low, especially because Chelsea won’t have a chance to replace him this summer.
Now it seems we were right, because today, the same journalist comes up with a new story, this time saying the player would cost double that amount.
He says that although Chelsea don’t call Alonso ‘non transferable’, they don’t want him to go. That’s why Marina Granovskaia has put a €60 tag price on him.
With Filipe Luís likely to leave to PSG this summer, that makes Atletico a more possible destination for Alonso than Real Madrid.
Still, AS claims that it may be too late for the Colchoneros to try to get the Spaniard in this transfer window, and it’s more probably they will make a new attempt next year.
