The Portuguese media today shares some very interesting news by revealing Fulham’s interest in manager Gonçalo Santos.
According to newspaper Record, it’s Marco Silva who’d like to bring the Casa Pia boss to Craven Cottage.
It’s said the Fulham manager wants Santos to replace Luís Boa-Morte, who’s leaving the club to take charge of Guinea-Bissau’s national team.
Record make it clear that the talks are not advanced so far, as there’s not a formal offer from the Whites on the table.
Santos had been an assistant manager at Casa Pia and was promoted in February, with the objective of saving them from relegation. He’s done very well there, with four wins, three draws and four losses in 11 games.
The story explains that the club would like to keep him. However, it’s also explained that the 37-year-old would make more money in England as part of Fulham’s staff, rather than being the first team manager of a small club in Portugal.
Now it seems it will really be up to his personal decision, with a little work from Marco Silva to convince him as well.
