On May 5th, Euro United (a spin-off from Paris United, who were pretty good on French claims last year) claimed Everton were one of the clubs set to send scouts to Lyon’s match against Lille.

They followed that up by claiming it would actually be Marcel Brands making the trip, accompanied by Everton’s ‘head of European recruitment’ Grétar Steinsson. The targets were named as Memphis Depay and Lucas Tousart.

Now they have an update, claiming the target has changed, with the Toffees being impressed by Bertrand Traoré. He played 70 minutes of the match, on the right of the attack, and wasn’t a standout performer.

Despite that, it’s claimed Everton have already spoken to the player’s representatives, making him a serious option for the Premier League club.

Traoré moved from Chelsea to Lyon in the 2017 summer transfer window. The 23 year old has made 46 appearances this season, the majority of which have come as a starter.

Interestingly, despite this supposed Lyon interest, Everton weren’t one of the clubs to have a scout at Lyon’s last match, against Marseille.
