Marca have an article in their Sunday edition flexing the muscles of Real Madrid.

It’s a great time for Madrid at the moment, they have a wonderful, and surprisingly settled team, with manager Zinedine Zidane finding a way to keep his players happy.

Even the ones who don’t get picked so much aren’t rocking the boat, Real Madrid is currently a happy place to be.

Therefore, the Champions league winners have turned down many approaches this summer for the fringe players, including from Newcastle United.

Rafael Benitez obviously knows a thing or two about the Real Madrid squad, but surely he must also know it would be difficult for Newcastle United to take any of the club’s players, fringe or otherwise.

Marca claim approaches from Newcastle United and others have been knocked back, and the players stated as wanted at St James’ Park are goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, and forward Lucas Vázquez.

Rafael Benitez and Newcastle United got a straight ‘no’ for both.
