The French media are starting to give up on the prospect of Juan Foyth arriving at PSG.

For weeks it’s been reported in Argentina that Foyth would much prefer a move to Tottenham Hotspur and to join up with Mauricio Pochettino, but with Spurs having walked away from the negotiating table, there was only PSG left as an option.

That’s why the stance in the French media has been that Foyth was close to joining PSG, and the majority of the media sentiment was it was only a matter of time before his announcement.

There’s wasn’t so much worry about Tottenham, especially because the mini Foyth drama was dragging out at the same time Neymar was signed.

With the latest claims from Argentina saying Foyth to Tottenham is very close indeed, the French media are catching up.

Saturday’s edition of L’Equipe says Foyth ‘could’ be heading to Tottenham instead of PSG, with the French newspaper taking notice of the Argentine claims.

Canal have a slightly different slant, saying Foyth to PSG was wrecked because of a ‘battle between agents’.

That’s a better slant for PSG than simply accepting the player preferred a move to Tottenham.

Juan Foyth must now be hoping Tottenham go through with his signing, after the club secured Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez.
