Burnley are set to make a new offer for the Deportivo La Coruña striker Florin Andone, which will be of interest to Leeds United.

As reported by Spanish outlet El Desmarque, a €14m bid is expected to be delivered over the weekend. The newspaper claims Burnley are in constant contact with Deportivo, and also speaking to the player’s agent on a daily basis.

El Desmarque says Burnley’s first offer wasn’t attractive enough, either for Deportivo or Andone, who’s very grateful for the chances his club have been giving him.

The same Spanish source claims Burnley are concentrating on Andone after their efforts to sign Chris Wood from Leeds United proved ‘unsuccessful’.

Burnley have been linked repeatedly with Wood, who impressed in the Championship last season with Leeds.

However, the Yorkshire club are determined to keep Wood at Elland Road, and that’s led to claims of the player being offered a new and improved contract.

Andone would almost certainly be a cheaper option for Burnley than prising Wood from Leeds United, and the wages would also be less.
