Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has just shared a fresh update on Manchester United’s pursuit of Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund.

A story on his website says the chase is in ‘full swing’, with a ‘non-stop’ effort from the Red Devils.

The journalist says Manchester United’s idea is to get the deal done by Saturday, when Atalanta play a friendly match against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

It’s claimed that the Red Devils’ latest offer was worth €62m plus €5m in bonuses, while the Serie A side continue to demand between €68m and €70m plus €5m in add-ons.

Pedulla highlights that ‘the distance in minimal’, and with Manchester United willing to give Erik ten Hag a new striker this weekend, the negotiation is continuing ‘in these hours’.

Hojlund himself is eager to complete the transfer, with the report saying he has an agreement with the Red Devils and ‘can’t wait’ to get the green light to make the move.

With the talks apparently reaching the peak of intensity, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see reports of a full agreement in the coming days.
