Last week, SportBild reported that Manchester United are the ‘only serious bidder’ for the transfer of Erling Haaland.
The star’s contract expires in 2023 and Borussia Dortmund have the intention of retaining him at least for another 18 months by offering him an extension. This week’s edition of SportBild explained BVB plan to offer him a new deal worth €16m per year.
His contract with Nike expires this month and Puma, who are also the German club’s kit supplier, want to bring him on board. To do that, they are ready to offer the 21-year-old a deal worth €8m per year.
These claims are relayed by Bild, who then provide more information on the Red Devils’ interest in the Norway international.
It’s again stated the frontman has a €75m release clause that will come into effect next summer. As per the report, Manchester United are ‘ready to pay’ that fee to bring Haaland to Old Trafford.
Bild state Manchester City and Real Madrid are willing to invest, meaning United will face fierce competition from the Citizens and Los Blancos to sign the attacker.
Haaland’s camp, led by his advisor Mino Raiola, are set to hold firm talks with Dortmund next month, to discuss player’s future plans. Following this meeting, there should at least be more clarity on when the Norwegian will decide to leave Signal Iduna Park.
