Manchester United summer target Lenny Yoro is destined to be a star, having already shown all the right signs early in his career.

That’s according to teammate Angel Gomes, who has shared how impressed he is by the 18-year-old defender.

Yoro has established himself as one of the rising stars of European football this season, establishing himself in Lille’s first team with a series of impressive performances.

The 18-year-old has been earning glowing reviews week by week and with it a growing list of admirers around Europe, with Manchester United one of them.

They’ve been linked with a move since the beginning of December, with several reports putting them very much in the picture and insisting they had tried to speed up talks to get ahead of the competition.

That continued this week with another report, this time in Spain, insisting that Manchester United and INEOS have made the 18-year-old a priority signing for the summer transfer window.

They seem to be convinced of his ability and the future growth he will undergo, something teammate Angel Gomes, who rose through Manchester United’s youth groups, is convinced of also.

“As soon as he arrived in the group, I understood that “he was going to reach the summits,” he told Eurosport, relayed by Le Petit Lillois.

“When I discovered the pros at the age of 16 at Manchester United, I understood that it was different. He already had the right temperament.

“And that’s not normal for a 16- or 17-year-old player arriving. It’s like he’s already an experienced player. And it showed in the way he trained, the way he behaved. His progress was obvious.”
