Thursday’s edition of L’Equipe reported that claims around Ander Herrera’s situation are getting ahead of what is actually happening.
It was explained that the player’s proposed move to PSG isn’t ‘as advanced as announced’.
The French newspaper said Herrera has other offers, but PSG are optimistic he’ll choose them. A Manchester United stay wasn’t ruled out, but was presented as unlikely.
Now the well connected Paris United go with a similar line.
They also reference reports from England of everything being agreed, and then add ‘but according to our information the case is not definitively concluded’.
PSG have made a good offer which would see his salary rise hugely, but the player has ‘several offers’ and it’s insisted he’s still studying those.
Herrera is believed to be willing to continue to listen to Manchester United until the end of the season, and will make the best decision ‘for him and his family’.
That would fit in with the player’s own quotes this week.
The midfielder spoke to Spain’s ABC and said: “It’s true that I only have two months on my contract left, and today, Manchester (United) and I aren’t thinking the same and there is no renewal agreement, but my duty is to keep listening to United.
“What I have clear is that I’m going to continue playing in a big team… I will listen to United, of course, but also to other clubs. I do not close doors.”
