On Sunday, we covered a claim from Italy that Andreas Pereira was a step away from signing for Lazio. The player is out of the picture under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, and the idea was a loan with a purchase option.

That was put at €10m if the clause was obligatory, and then later claims stated the clause would be optional for a figure of €27m, with €15m even used elsewhere.

Monday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports Pereira is expected to arrive in Rome ‘in the next few hours’ and then he’ll have a medical to join Lazio.

The Italian newspaper cover the €27m figure, which originated in Brazil, and explain such an amount hasn’t been reached in Claudio Lotito’s time in charge of Lazio’s money.

Despite the claims of this move being imminent, there could be a bump in the road. With Lazio needing to secure exits before bringing signings in, Corriere dello Sport reiterate that’s the case, and they need those deals sorted before Pereira’s move from Manchester United could be made official.

The same goes for Wesley Hoedt and Mohamed Fares. The latter had a medical to join the Rome club on September 16th, but still hasn’t had his transfer made official, and Hoedt had a medical cancelled on Friday.
