On Wednesday, Marca reported that Manchester United submitted an offer to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong.

It was claimed that the Red Devils put on the table an initial amount of €60m, plus €20m in bonuses, and the offer was being ‘seriously studied’ by the Camp Nou side.

Many outlets have been commenting on the situation since then, and now it’s time for Marca themselves to come back with an update and show how things stand.

The outlet makes it very clear that the offer is very important for Barça. It’s claimed that at the Camp Nou, they believe there won’t be any other similar bid for a player they’d be prepared to let go.

It’s said the amount is ‘too important not to accept’, as their economic situation ‘does not allow them to reject it’.

Marca writes that despite being ‘reluctant’ to leave Barcelona, a club he always wished to play for, De Jong could end up changing his mind with the ‘insistence’ from Manchester United and the ‘pressure’ the Catalan side would put on him to accept the transfer.
