If there’s one player at Manchester City most Manchester United fans both dislike and respect, it’s Sergio Agüero.
The striker’s last gasp goal is what cost the Red Devils the title all those years ago all the while handing his current club their first Premier League trophy, and he’s been scoring for years against them.
However, that is all about to end, with the Etihad side revealing on Tuesday that Agüero would be leaving the club once the current campaigns comes to a close, 10 years after joining them from Atlético Madrid.
His next destination remains a mystery, but he isn’t short of options.
This comes amid a flurry of rumours claiming Edinson Cavani could very well return to South America in the near future, making the move to bring Agüero to Old Trafford somewhat logical.
It’s worth the try, but after so many years wearing the city’s blue colours, it seems highly unlikely he’d throw all that away by signing for their local red rivals.
We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s a long shot, to say the least.
