Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Andreas Pereira regarding a potential return to the club.
Currently on loan at Spanish side Valencia, the midfielder can be brought back by the Red Devils in January if they pay a compensation fee to the La Liga club.
According to Plaza Deportiva today, Manchester United officials told the player that his performances have been followed closely, and there’s a chance he could return in January if he manages to conquer a starting spot at Valencia before then.
That’s not an easy task. Despite having a spot in the team at the start of the season, Andreas was dropped to the bench, and is fighting to impress manager Marcelino since then.
He’s even been having a couple of chances as a starter, but despite not being bad, he can’t do better than the other competitors for his position either.
Plaza Deportiva recalls that José Mourinho’s wish was to keep Andreas in the Manchester United squad, but as he wasn’t much used in the first month of the season, the youngster chose to return to Spain, where he had regular playing time at Granada the season before.
But with only 415 minutes played so far, maybe staying at Old Trafford would have been the best decision.
