Turkish newspaper Aksam suggest Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has identified Eljif Elmas as a player to sign in the next transfer window.
The 18 year old Macedonian international joined Fenerbahce from Rabotnicki at the start of the season, but registration rules and injuries have limited his progress with the Turkish side.
Manchester City have been linked with other youngsters playing in Turkey, and it seems Elmas is the next one. It’s not known how much Fenerbahce value the young player at, if Manchester City were to come in with a bid.
The Premier League leaders have done business in Turkey in recent years after they signed Enes Unal from Bursaspor for €2m.
Unal failed to break into the first team, but Manchester City managed to sell the forward to Villarreal for €12m last summer.
Elmas is a highly rated midfielder who can play both as a holding midfielder or in a No.10 role.
The youngster will be under contract at Fenerbahce until 2022.
