Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves has told FourFourTwo the Molineux faithful are crazy for the club.
The Portugal international joined the Championship side last summer from FC Porto for a fee in the region for £16m, which was seen as a surprise transfer at the time.
In an interview with the football outlet, Neves was asked about his switch to Wolves: “I knew I’d be able to develop myself here, and I think I’m a completely different player. I love the atmosphere inside the stadium – the supporters are mental for the club, so every match is special.”
Neves has been key in Wolves’ push for promotion, and after last night’s 1-0 victory against Cardiff City it looks likely they’ll be playing in the Premier League next season.
Wolves are now nine points clear at the top with 5 games remaining thanks to Neves scoring the only goal of the game.
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed by FourFourTwo and he’s been named the third best player in the Football League this season, one place behind his Wolves teammate Diogo Jota.
The Portuguese international has played 34 of Wolves 41 league games this campaign, scoring 4 goals.
