Manchester City star Bernardo Silva could be a target for Barcelona this summer, but it would be a ‘very complicated deal’ for them to pull off.
That’s according to AS, who say the possibility of a deal happening is still ‘a long way off’ despite the belief he would be a ‘spectacular reinforcement’ for Xavi’s squad.
All efforts at the Camp Nou are currently focused on signing Robert Lewandowski, but there is another name ‘sounding strongly’ at the club, and that is Silva.
The Portuguese midfielder is reportedly looking to leave Manchester City this summer, and several reports have made it clear he’d like to move to Barcelona.
They’d be more than happy to welcome him but would only be able to do so if they were to sell a big name first, as he would cost around €80m.
“We have to be realistic. It’s a very, very complicated operation,” the club are reported as saying by the newspaper when asked about the possibility of signing the Manchester City star.
They believe signing Silva would be ‘beneficial’ for them, but it all depends on other players, namely Frenkie de Jong, who could be the big sale that would provide the funds for a move to happen but is resisting an exit at this moment in time.
Thus, Barcelona would prefer to be more ‘realistic’ for the time being and focus on other targets and more ‘feasible options’ than Silva.
