The Italian media won’t give up on Miralem Pjanic to Manchester City and continue to push all kinds of claims.
A week ago a transfer at around €80m was being pushed and now, for reasons unknown, the figure has gone up to €100m.
Juventus are keen to sell players and it’s probably not happening as quickly as they’d hoped, so various opportunities are being talked up. Whereas Pjanic wasn’t originally one of the possibilities to leave, the Italian media believe the chances are increasing because of interest from City and others.
The Catalan media have good connections to Manchester City, with the club making sure to build those links even before Pep Guardiola became manager. Journalists were invited over and given a lot of access, much to the frustration of Manuel Pellegrini, and the connection was built.
Tuesday’s edition of Sport reports that sources from the English club have made it clear they’re not considering moving for Pjanic.
Not only that, the same sources revealed Manchester City won’t make any further ‘high profile’ additions before the close of the window.
Guardiola and the City management team are said to believe thy have enough in the squad and don’t want to sign a player who may not perfectly fit.
