Manchester City forward Leroy Sane is determined to secure a move to Bayern Munich this summer but would wait to move on a free next summer.

That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who was responding to claims that the deal could be delayed until next year by Sané.

The Manchester City man is in the final year of his deal at the Etihad and has made it clear he won’t be signing an extension at the club, something Pep Guardiola recently confirmed.

A move away this summer is the likely scenario, then, with Bayern Munich still attempting to work out a deal after failing to secure him last summer.

So far they have been unable to reach an agreement with Manchester City over Sané’s asking price, with City believed to be demanding double what Bayern are willing to pay.

That has led to several reports that the deal could be delayed until next summer, with Bayern able to negotiate a free transfer with Sané come January of next year.

Indeed, it has been reported that such a deal would suit both Bayern and Sané as the former would save on a transfer fee and the latter could demand bigger wages and a bigger signing bonus as a result of the Bavarians saving cash.

Falk, though, says the priority for Sané is to complete the deal this summer, and that is his priority at this moment in time.

However, he does not rule out that a free transfer could be on the cards and says the player is willing to wait for his move until next summer should the two clubs fail to find an agreement over the transfer fee.

That suggests the ball is very much in Manchester City’s court if they do not want to lose a highly valuable asset for nothing in the coming months.
