Mateo Kovačić has been a regular for Manchester City and has played 2,113 minutes from 32 games in all competitions this season. Despite being a regular, his long-term future at the Etihad seems to be uncertain.
Recent claims in the UK said the Citizens will revamp their squad for next season and could sell Kovačić in the summer window. It was also stated Atlético Madrid could take advantage of Manchester City’s clear out to sign the midfielder for €30m.

Kovačić isn’t keen on moving to Turkey as his desire is to continue in the top five leagues in Europe. Therefore, he ‘would welcome the opportunity’ to relaunch his career in Spain as Atlético can help him return to Madrid.
