Having already bought Jonathan Clauss from RC Lens to improve the right-hand side of their defence, Marseille need someone to back him up.
That man appears to be Issa Kaboré, currently at Manchester City, who spent last season on loan at Troyes.
He was also one of the standouts of the last Africa Cup of Nations, which allowed him to showcase his skills on a bigger platform.
Bought by Manchester City from KV Mechelen in 2020 for £4m, the 21-year-old could potentially bring in a nice profit at the Etihad, as explained by RMC Sport.
Of course, it will remain to be seen whether he performs enough to convince the Ligue 1 side to spend that much on him next summer, but the general idea would be for him to compete with Clauss for a starting spot and even, maybe, replace the 29-year-old down the line.
The Manchester City player made 32 appearances in all competitions for Troyes last season, picking up two assists along the way.
