A week after Marlos Moreno’s loan deal with Flamengo expired, the Colombian press noticed that the Manchester City player still has an unclear future.
The winger’s home country media hadn’t had any stories about him for a while, until they realised that Flamengo’s squad traveled to the preseason in the United States without the player.
So today, both AS and Antena 2 write about Moreno’s loan spell in Brazil, which was pretty unimpressive, with one goal in 35 appearances.
AS doesn’t have to say much about his future, but Antena 2 claims that his recent performances make it unlikely that Manchester City will want him back.
The low possibility of a return would make it possible that Moreno will stay in South America for another loan, according to Antena 2.
It’s interesting how they write that the player now finds himself ‘with no club’, even though ‘his rights belong to Manchester City’. Marlos Moreno was linked to São Paulo last month, but things haven’t developed much.
Signed by City from Atletico Nacional in a €5.5m deal in 2016, Moreno has been loaned to Deportivo La Coruña, Girona and Flamengo.
