Manchester City have been dragged into the endgame for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, by Italy’s TMW.
The Italian website say that as an offshoot of AC Milan’s attempted efforts to sign their former player from Borussia Dortmund, they’ve learned some ‘indiscretions’.
Those include a serious interest of Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola said to be a big fan of the player, and PSG are also linked once again.
Aubameyang, according to the claims, is looking for a wage of ‘at least’ €10m per season after tax. That’s £170k per week after tax, so whilst his accountants would find ways to sidestep the highest tax rate for a chunk of the salary, the gross figure is still going to be a lot higher.
Manchester City don’t need Aubameyang, so it’s possible their name is being used to flush out others. PSG may baulk at the salary demands too, and it would be no surprise if Aubameyang, who turns 28 years of age this month, is tempted by the lure of China.
Given the way he chronicles the spending of his money, he perhaps needs such figures to stay afloat.
