The agent of Reading manager Jaap Stam has told the Dutch media there’s interest from other clubs in England. Stam has been linked with the Leeds United job in recent days, after Garry Monk’s resignation.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Henk Timmer was asked about recent interest from the likes of Leeds United.

Timmer acknowledged interest generally but said Stam will remain at Reading because of the trust the club have shown in the Dutchman.

“There is a lot of interest in Jaap, from English clubs and elsewhere in Europe. But he is loyal to Reading, the club has given him a chance in English football. If a big club in the Premier League knocks it might be a different story,” said Timmer.

Leeds United have been linked with a number of managers since Monk’s departure, and Stam could have be the ideal man for the job.

The former Netherlands international guided Reading to the Championship play-offs last season at the expense of Leeds United, which has led to attention from other clubs.
