Failing to sign Harry Kane in the summer, Manchester City still find themselves without a focal point up front following the departure of Sergio Agüero.
This has led to Pep Guardiola’s side being linked with other names, such as Erling Haaland and Dusan Vlahovic, with the latter being the subject of reported approaches from the Cityzens over the summer.
They haven’t forgotten about the Serbian either, as Gazzetta dello Sport report that Manchester City ‘have also appeared in recent weeks to find out about’ the striker’s intentions.
That suggests there is still an active interest from Guardiola for the player, although the newspaper do point out the Spaniard ‘has been making different choices in attack of late’, but that will probably stem from the fact he doesn’t really have any other choice than to use a false nine.
As for the price for Vlahovic, it’s made clear that the valuation for January ‘continues to be around €60m’, making it a tough ask, even for the wealthiest of clubs (Newcastle aside).
Fiorentina and their owner, Rocco Commisso, have hinted they would ideally want to keep their star until the end of the season, even if they know he has no intention of renewing his contract at the club.
A sale is therefore expected, but it all depends how enticing January offers are, as their plans could be shifted dramatically if faced with one they cannot refuse.
