Watford midfielder Ken Sema may have 14 caps for Sweden, but hasn’t been called up by the national team lately.
The 29-year-old last featured for the country in November 2022, and isn’t in the squad which will be playing in the international break this month.
As coach Janne Andersson spoke to the local media about their upcoming games, he was now quizzed about the situation of the Watford star.
The manager made it clear that the only problem Sema is facing is the competition in the squad, claiming the player should soon get a new opportunity, as long as he does well at the Hornets.
“Ken is playing and doing well at Watford. He has participated and competed both as a full-back and an outside midfielder. I can’t take out as many as I want, I have to draw the line somewhere and now Jens and Ken end up out,” said Janne Andersson (via Aftonbladet).
Featuring for Watford this season, Sema has five goals and seven assists in 32 appearances.
That makes him their third top scorer and best passer, so he should be wondering what he needs to do to draw the attention from the Swedish national team.
The Hornets currently stand in 10th on the Championship table.
They now face Wigan in their last game before the international break, and will only be back to playing on the 1st of April, when they take on Luton Town.
