Everton are among the clubs eyeing a move for FC Union midfielder Rani Khedira when he becomes a free agent in the summer.

That’s according to SportBILD, who say the Blues are one of several Premier League sides eyeing up the 29-year-old in the summer.

Khedira has been with Union since 2021 and ‘developed into a leader’ with the Bundesliga side, playing a key role as they’ve challenged for the title this season.

He looks set to depart in the summer, though, with his current deal coming to an end and no renewal talks in sight at this moment in time.

That put the current Union vice-captain ‘in great demand’ and Everton are one of the sides the newspaper states he ‘will be playing with’ when it comes to determining his next club.

There is no mention of whether they’ve been in touch about a move as yet, or the kind of deal they’d be willing to offer, just that they have him on their radar alongside other Premier League clubs.

That would certainly make sense too, with Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure out of contract in the summer and Everton’s finances hardly flourishing if they need to replace them.

Whether Khedira would be interested, of course, is another matter entirely, but it seems the Blues will be among those at least thinking of a deal when his Union contract comes to an end.
