Ajax manager Peter Bosz has told the Dutch media the injury suffered to Bertrand Traore is worse than first thought. The youngster is currently on loan with Ajax from Chelsea to get more first team opportunities.
“Traore is not yet back, he’s in London. He’s still being treated. The injury was worse than the symptoms suggested. With the injury I can’t be sure whether Traore will be with Burkina Faso to participate in the Africa Cup. If he can’t play with us, he will not be able to play there. There’s contact between Chelsea, Ajax and Burkina Faso,” said the Ajax boss.
Ajax is Traore’s second loan in the Netherlands, having spent a season and a half with Chelsea’s partner club Vitesse.
There was a chance Traore could have stayed with Chelsea for the current season after some positive displays in the last campaign, but in the end it was thought best for him to go out again.
Charly Musonda is back at Chelsea after a poor start to the season with Real Betis and the last thing the Stamford Bridge club want is for two of their best youngsters to have years which don’t see much progression.
