Beşiktaş manager Fernando Santos rejected three Chelsea players in the January transfer window, with Todd Boehly unable to convince the Turkish side into the signings.
That’s according to journalist Ali Ece, relayed by Ajansspor, who claims that Boehly offered Chelsea trio Malang Sarr, Deivid Washington and Andrey Santos.
All three players currently find themselves somewhat stuck at Stamford Bridge at this moment in time, having failed to break into the team under Mauricio Pochettino so far.
Andrey Santos had spent the first half of the season on loan with Nottingham Forest, but that deal was cancelled after a disappointing few months in which he barely featured.
It seems Boehly was therefore keen to get them out and away to Turkey, offering the trio to Beşiktaş in an attempt to find a solution to their current problems, but manager Fernando Santos was not interested in doing business.
“Chelsea President Todd Boehly says, ‘Let’s give Malang Sarr. You make a deal,'” Ece is quoted as saying.
“Fernando Santos said, ‘We have Colley as a left stopper. How can I play two left-handed centre-backs?
“Chelsea are also offering Deivid Washington to Beşiktaş. Fernando Santos said, ‘Semih is much better than Washington’. They are also offering Andrey Santos. Fernando Santos said, ‘We don’t need to buy anyone unless they are very extra players’.”
