On Friday, we covered claims from Sport that Manchester United have joined the list of clubs chasing Jean-Clair Todibo.
The same newspaper reported on Sunday that the Red Devils are one of the sides interested in the defender, who has struggled for minutes since moving to Barcelona in January.
It was also suggested the La Liga winners will open the door for a transfer in the winter market, if they receive €20m.
Sport’s online edition on Sunday explained the Catalan club need to raise money to balance the books and funds can be raised by selling the likes of Todibo, Carles Aleñá, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic.
Out of the four mentioned players, the centre-back has more chance of being sold in the mid-season transfer window.
According to Sport, the Spanish champions have received offers from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen for Todibo. and they would accept his transfer if a buyback option is included as a part of the operation.
Considering the number of centre-back options available at Solskjaer’s disposal, it looks like Sport are dragging Manchester United in to help Barca force other clubs to step up their efforts.
