Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo today features an interesting piece on Manchester United’s pursuit for the signing of Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier.
The outlet shows the stance from the La Liga side, claiming the club ‘totally count’ on the player for the coming season.
However, they may now have an issue in the summer market.
That’s because while Trippier is happy at Atletico Madrid in general, the idea of going back to England ‘motivates’ him, especially to be with his family again after two years overseas.
Regarding Manchester United’s ‘insistent interest’, it’s said to be ‘leaving the player with doubts’ since it arrived a few weeks ago, but Atletico Madrid haven’t changed their position since then: they continue to demand €30m for the transfer.
The Red Devils reportedly consider the demands to be ‘high’, so they’re not working to convince Atletico Madrid yet.
For now, they just continue to be in contact with Trippier, who’s not going to be forcing a move out of the club.
But just in case Manchester United do end up offering the request amount, the Colchoneros are said to already be looking for other alternatives in the transfer market.
