Manchester United are interested in signing Benfica’s right-back Nélson Semedo, according to reports from Portugal.
As said during the weekend, Red Devils’ officials were sent to watch Benfica playing against Belenenses, and O Jogo are now claiming they were there to keep an eye on the 22-year-old.
They say United have been following Semedo for a long time, and he’d be a target for the club alongside the Monaco player Fabinho.
Recent quotes from Benfica’s president Luis Filipe Vieira said Semedo should be worth €40m these days, and that’s what O Jogo are based in to say his price. He has a €45m release clause, so that’s really what the club should be asking anyway.
Manchester United would have the competition from Inter Milan, as the Italian side have already shown their interest during the summer.
Despite having a big article, O Jogo has very little information about Manchester United’s chase for the player. They say the club are watching him and that’s all, without any other knowledge about contacts or offers for him.
Semedo has also been linked to Arsenal in the past month.
