Matteo Darmian returning to Italy this summer looks very likely indeed, and not just on holiday.
The Manchester United fullback’s early form at the club now seems a very long time ago and going back to Serie A for more games would be the scenario which makes most sense.
Luckily for Darmian, he’s been linked with returning to Italy pretty much since he arrived at Old Trafford, with there being an Italian feeling that their players never really want to leave the country and are always on some kind of extended loan.
Several clubs have been linked with the Manchester United player and the one at the forefront right now is Juventus. Turin newspaper Turrosport has Darmian to Juventus on their front page, saying the deal is on the way to being closed with things being in the final stages.
Having danced around the issue for months, Juventus have now actually started talks with their English counterparts and there’s not a lot between them.
The player himself would jump at the chance, explain Tuttosport, but Manchester United and Juventus still need to finalise a fee. According to the claim, the Premier League club don’t want to lose money on Darmian and would like something around the €16-18m they paid Torino for the player.
However, Juventus think that with Darmian’s current status the price should be lowereda little. To counter against that, prices have shot up since Darmian moved so even if he’s worth less, in actual football currency he’d now be worth more.
Tuttosport believe there’s a 60% chance Manchester United and Juventus will reach a final agreement and the deal go through.
