Ahead of the Arsenal-AC Milan clash in the Europa League, Gennaro Gattuso couldn’t help but express his admiration for Jack Wilshere.

The England international is out of contract at the end of the season, and Arsène Wenger has all but come to terms with the fact the midfielder will perhaps leave the club on a free once the current campaign comes to an end.

Regarding his next destination, Wilshere is sure to have a variety of options at his disposal, including AC Milan, if Gazzetta dello Sport are to be believed over the weekend.

The Italian newspaper look at what the Serie A side’s summer transfer window could look like, and it includes the 26-year-old Arsenal player.

With certain financial restrictions after last summer’s ridiculous spending, free targets will be Milan’s main objectives, and Gazzetta explain ‘contacts are continuing’ with Jack Wilshere over a potential switch taking him from the Emirates to San Siro.

Considering how much Gattuso likes the Arsenal midfielder, it isn’t surprising to see him take an interest in his situation, but we’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of this.

After all, Wilshere is bound to be linked with a huge amount of clubs between now and July.
