Mohammed Salisu made his La Liga debut in August 2019 and since then the defender has become one of the integral players for Real Valladolid.
Last November, we relayed news from Spain that Manchester United have watched him ‘the most’.
Two months ago, AS explained the Red Devils, along with Atlético Madrid, Getafe and Valencia ‘have already asked about’ the centre-back.
The Ghanaian is represented by Juan Mata’s father and the agent has given an interview to VIP Deportivo, where he explained the 21-year-old is likely to change clubs in the summer.
“Salisu is another very young African discovery, which this year is being the sensation of La Liga because at only 20 years old, 1.90m, left-handed, and playing centre back in this category is not easy,” Mata Sr said.
“The truth is that I think this may be his window [to leave], because interests have arisen from many clubs, and he deserves it.”
Salisu has a €12m release clause and AS on Monday claims that despite Valladolid trying to renew his contract, this could the player’s last season with his current employer.
The desire to take the defender away from the Spanish club has not stopped even during the global health crisis.
AS adds, ‘Valladolid has stated as active and passive that it is going to refer to €12m termination clause, the clubs that have been interested in him must go through the cash register. Among others, Manchester United, Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid.’
With the interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side talked up again, United need to pay Salisu’s €12m buyout clause, if they want to secure his services.
