Hasan Cetinkaya isn’t a shy agent, and has a history of speaking about his clients in the media.
Emil Forsberg has been one such player to be at the centre of such a situation, and it’s made his transfer situation with RB Leipzig complicated for a while.
Last week Cetinkaya spoke to the Catalan media about another of his players, Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof. He said the Sweden international “is in the orbit of a great European club, but leaving United depends on the English club.”
Those comments encouraged claims of Barcelona interest, whether true or not, and Lindelof has since made it very clear he’s happy at Manchester United.
Mundo Deportivo now report Cetinkaya had a meeting with the Premier League club on Friday to try and ‘force’ a departure to Barcelona. It sounds like he was laughed off.
The Catalan newspaper cover Barcelona interest, and it doesn’t sound especially serious. However, it’s claimed Barca have asked to be kept informed should Manchester United’s stance change.
Lindelof has a contract lasting until 2021, with an option for a further year. He hasn’t been given a new deal since joining from Benfica in 2017, which could be the reasoning behind all of this.
