Two days ago, Mundo Deportivo explained Manchester United remain ‘very interested’ in signing Raphaël Varane.
His contract expires in 2022 and there’s been repeated claims that Real Madrid will look to sell the defender in the summer without a renewal.
ABC cover Los Blancos signing David Alaba on a free transfer in Saturday’s edition of the newspaper.
They then mention the former Lens man and Sergio Ramos, who have so far decided not to accept the club’s renewal proposals.
The Frenchman earns €6m net per season at the Bernabéu, and the newspaper states Manchester United are ready to ‘double’ his current wages, if he joins them.
ABC stress if the World Cup winner decides not to sign a new deal, the Spanish club ‘intend to sell’ him for around €70m.
Over at AS, it’s explained Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side ‘press again’ to take the centre-back after Zinedine Zidane prevented his compatriot from leaving Real Madrid for United in 2016.
There’s also interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid, who are interested in Kylian Mbappé, could use Varane as part of the deal to sign the forward.
With PSG now entering the picture for the defender, it’ll be interesting to be see how the situation with Varane’s future develops in the coming weeks.
