You may remember a little while back we brought you a report Spain about how Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri was struggling at Alaves.
The youngster joined the Spanish side on loan in the summer after spending the second half of last season with them as well, with the Red Devils hoping he would get regular game time and continue his development.
That wasn’t happening, though, with it reported in Spain that Alaves were growing concerned about the move as Pellistri wasn’t hitting the heights they expected.
That sparked rumours in England that Manchester United were monitoring the situation and could recall the youngster, although that was never stated in Spain.
Anyway, it seems since that report at the beginning of the month, things have picked considerably for Pellistri at his current club.
They say Pellistri has been a starter in all of Alaves’ recent matches, with back to back wins recently pulling them away from the relegation zone.
Tuesday saw them pick up a big 1-0 win over Elche at Mendizorroza, and Pellistri was a key man in the result, so much so he left the game ‘to the applause’ of the home fans who were chanting ‘Uruguayan, Uruguayan’ after him.
He’s seemingly getting back to the form he showed on loan last season when it’s stated his performances ‘saved them (Alaves) from relegation’.
This will all come as good news for Manchester United, of course, who it seems no longer need to worry about their boy and how he’s developing.
After a tough start, it seems he’s gotten himself back up to scratch and quickly earned the love of the fans, and his manager, once again.
