Few players have played for both Liverpool and Manchester United over the years, but Emre Can could join that select group in the next few months if a number of reports in Italy are to be believed.
We’ve covered these here and there in the past, but Tuttosport keep pushing it hard, as shown by their article on the matter on Wednesday.
According to them, Manchester United, who they have already claimed are close to replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Massimiliano Allegri, could move for both Can and Mario Mandzukic in January, and the arrival of the Italian manager, who is a big fan of both, would certainly help that.
We already know all about United’s interest in the Croatian striker, as that’s been covered many times, and his lack of game time suggests a January move, to either Old Trafford or elsewhere, is on the cards.
As for Can, he has made it very clear he isn’t happy with how things are going for him at Juventus under Maurizio Sarri, which has led to exit rumours.
His exclusion from the Champions League list understandably went down the wrong way, and the idea of finding a new landing point is growing, with his entourage being contacted by clubs from both the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
However, in true Tuttosport dramatic fashion, they end their article with the bombshell (meaning we’re going to do the same with ours): United are the most ‘enticing offer’.
Dum, dum, daaaaaa.
