Matteo Darmian will remain at Manchester United until the end of the season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper made that very clear on Thursday after Roma saw yet another attempt to sign the 28-year-old on loan rebuffed by the Red Devils.
However, when one door closes, another opens, and for Darmian, it will do so in July.
Gazzetta explain there’s a far greater chance the Italy international will be allowed to leave Old Trafford come the end of the season, when José Mourinho and Ed Woodward will have far more time to find a suitable replacement.
But, and this is bad news for Monchi and co., his most likely destination will be Juventus, who, as well as recuperating Leonardo Spinazzola, want the Manchester United right-back as two of Alex Sandro, Kwadwo Asamoah and Stephan Lichsteiner could leave during the upcoming summer transfer window.
No price is mentioned in the article, but our bet will be the Red Devils will want to make their money back, and if the Turin club get around £60m for Alex Sandro, they should be able to grant Ed Woodward his wish.
