Ousmane Dembélé is making headlines in the last 48 hours after he decided not to accept the proposal offered by Barcelona to renew his current contract, which expires in 2022.
Manchester United and Juventus were already named as the winger’s suitors even before he entered his final year of contract at the Camp Nou.
According to TV3, the 24-yearold wants a salary of €30m gross per year and a signing on bonus of €30m. His agent is demanding a commission of €15m.
Sport have relayed these claims and state these demands are considered as ‘crazy’ by the La Liga side.
With the France international likely to leave the Catalan club, the newspaper discuss the Red Devils and Juve as his next possible destinations.
It’s claimed these two sides have been in contact with his agent ‘for months’ and have also sent a ‘firm proposal’ for a potential free transfer next summer.
Despite United keen on signing the former Borussia Dortmund man, Sport say Dembélé’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, has an agreement in principle with Juventus.
Meanwhile, Xavi Hernández’s side are studying different scenarios to deal with the player after his refusal to sign an extension. One would be to cash in from his sale in January or to not hand him minutes until the end of the season.
Sport also explain Barca could let Dembélé leave as a free agent in the winter market and this would be done with an intention to get him of their wage bill for the second half of this season, but that remains the most drastic of all options.
