On February 19th, we carried a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained Manchester United and Manchester City have ‘informed themselves’ about Marash Kumbulla’s situation at Hellas Verona.
The centre-back has made 18 starts in the league this season. His impressive displays for the Serie A side haven’t gone unnoticed as clubs from Italy and abroad are chasing the 20-year-old.
According to Passion Inter, Inter Milan are on pole for the Italy-born Albania international, but there are other clubs looking at the defender. The Red Devils and the Premier League winners get a mention.
Apart from Antonio Conte’s side, United and City, Lazio, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also keen on signing Kumbulla.
The player’s contract with his current employers runs down in 2022 and the report states Hellas Verona have already budgeted for the sale of Kumbulla in the next window.
Passion Inter adds Hellas Verona need ‘at least €25m’ to part ways with Kumbulla after this season.
It remains to be seen if either of Manchester United or Manchester City would get ahead of Inter for the defender.
