As Manchester City loanee Pedro Porro has now reached 50 appearances for Sporting, his permanent move to the Portuguese side returns to the table.
The fullback moved to Lisbon in the summer of 2020 on a two-year deal. Now the Lions can sign him for €8.5m until the end of his spell in May next year.
As newspaper Record writes about the situation today, they recall that last Friday, they published a story claiming Sporting and Porro already reached an agreement for a contract until 2025.
The Lions are now said to be in talks with Manchester City about a buy-back clause, as that’s something that Pep Guardiola’s side have been asking for. Meanwhile, the Lisbon club will try to get a discount on the fee.
Manchester City side spent €12m to sign Porro from Girona back in 2019.
Following his arrival, they first loaned him to Real Valladolid and then agreed this two-year spell with Sporting. His good form with the Lions even gave him a place in the Spanish national team, and he’s set to leave the Premier League club without any chance to play for under Pep Guardiola.
