Manchester City will pose an ‘obstacle’ for Lyon in signing Atlético Madrid’s Renan Lodi, according to reports.
L’Equipe on Sunday reported the Ligue 1 side’s priority is to strengthen the left-back and wide positions.
Lodi has been identified as a target for the fullback position as their sporting director, Juninho, has been following the 23-year-old for several seasons.
Claims made by the French newspaper have been relayed by La Razón and they provide their own information on this case.
It’s claimed that Lyon will face competition from the Citizens to secure the Brazilian’s signature.
Pep Guardiola’s side will be an ‘obstacle’ for them as the report adds that City would offer Los Rojiblancos a possibility to ‘make money’ from the defender’s sale in the next market.
Like Lyon, Manchester City and Diego Simeone’s side also have a priority to strengthen the left side of their defence.
The La Liga side have their eyes set on Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo and the money raised from Lodi’s sale would be invested in Atlético’s efforts to sign the Spaniard.
Apart from Lodi, La Razón explain the Manchester club also have Grimaldo on their agenda for the summer.
