Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a story from France claiming that Philippe Sandler was heading from Manchester City to ESTAC Troyes.
The idea here would have been to move the Dutch defender on from the Etihad but keep him within the City Football Group, but that hasn’t gone to plan.
That’s because Sandler himself has turned down the move to the Ligue 1 side, according to French journalist Santi Aouna.
Taking to Twitter, he explained the player ‘no longer wants to come to Troyes’, meaning the club ‘are now looking for another avenue’.

That will be a bit of a blow to Manchester City, as the defender, managed by Mino Raiola, is out of contract next season.
This move would have allowed to keep him within reach at all times, and now, barring him renewing, they could face the prospect of losing him altogether.
Sandler spent last season at Manchester City without playing a game, and had previously been on loan to Anderlecht for the 2019-20 season.
