Following the news from England that Aston Villa would not be buying Nicolò Zaniolo permanently at the end of his loan from Galatasaray, the Italian media have been in overdrive.

That’s because he remains one of their good talents, despite already being 24 years of age, and there is hope that he could make a return to Serie A in the summer.

Calciomercato have an article on Thursday about the Aston Villa man, explaining that the relationship between the forward and the Premier League is a ‘love that never really blossomed’.

The news on these shores means that his future is ‘certainly far from England’, especially after the announcement that Unai Emery’s side are close to renewing Leon Bailey, far happier with the Jamaica international’s output than the Italian’s.

Calciomercato reckon that once Zaniolo leaves Aston Villa and heads back to Istanbul at Galatasaray, he will ‘express a single wish’, the one of returning to his home country.

The belief is that his desire ‘will be decisive’, and there are a few clubs in Serie A that could really be tempted, such as AC Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina, but those aren’t certainties just yet.

These are ‘situations to be evaluated’, but it’s said that Zaniolo ‘has a great desire’ to return back to his country of birth, and it could be a ‘decisive’ summer for the future of his career.
