IFK Norrköping’s Linus Wahlqvist has told the Swedish media his future at the club will be decided by others. The 20 year old has continually been linked with a move to Leeds United.
Speaking to FolkBladet, Wahlqvist was asked about his future at IFK after being linked with a number of clubs in recent months.
“It’s quiet. I will wait until something happens. It will be answered by others. I will focus on IFK as long as I am here. Then you get what you get.”
Leeds United have already tried to sign the young defender, making an approach for Wahlqvist last summer. Throughout last season Leeds United continued to be linked with the youngster in the Swedish media, and the player has on several occasions spoken about his future at IFK.
Even though Vurnon Anita was brought in by Leeds United this summer, Wahlqvist could still be an option. With the Dutchman’s versatility, there could still be room for Wahlqvist in the right back position with the Elland Road club.
