Fanatik report Liverpool’s new signing Takumi Minamino could pave the way for Xherdan Shaqiri’s Anfield exit, with Galatasaray reportedly still interested in signing the Swiss international.
The Turkish newspaper claim Shaqiri could leave Liverpool after the arrival of Minamino, and if he decides to leave the Premier League leaders, he is open to playing for Galatasaray.
According to Fanatik, Liverpool will prioritise permanent transfer offers for the Swiss attacker, but Gala will still make a loan proposal to land the player.
Shaqiri has been linked with a move to Galatasaray on several occasions in the past few week as the Turkish side look to bolster their squad in the new year. He was also linked with the Super Lig champions when he was playing for Stoke City.
This season the 28 year old has struggled with injuries but he’s played a role since returning to Jurgen Klopp’s side late last month.
Shaqiri has made 8 appearances for Liverpool this season, and scored one goal. His contract will expire at the end of June 2023.
