Calciomercato brought a very brief and to the point claim on Aaron Ramsey over the weekend. They explained the midfielder could return to the Premier League in the summer window, and that Liverpool and West Ham are both in the picture to sign him.
That was it, with no further details given regarding price, and no claims that either club have actually made an approach for the Welshman yet.
Having moved to Juventus when his Arsenal contract expired in 2019, the 30-year-old has had an up and down time with the Turin club. Last season he made 24 Serie A appearances, yet only managed to achieve 1000 minutes across all of those.
This campaign, the player has made 26 appearances so far, across all competitions, however, he’s again been used as a bit part player, not someone who starts and finishes most matches.
Liverpool and West Ham would surely have several concerns ahead of any move for Ramsey. In the current campaign he’s had three injury absences and is currently out with a thigh problem, meaning he hasn’t joined up with the Wales squad.
Added to fitness worries is Ramsey’s wages, given he’s on a big wage after arriving as a free agent. That salary level is one of the reasons it’s thought Juventus are willing to listen to approaches, but it’s unlikely either English club would be keen to go near what he’s currently earning.
