It’s not everyday that Diario Gol, a slightly less ridiculous version of Don Balon (although that’s debatable), come out with a story that makes sense, or at least one that continues in the footsteps of a previous report from another newspaper.

Back towards the end of February, we covered the rumours sending Dani Ceballos to Liverpool, and the Spaniard’s situation at Real Madrid, which came from Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Of course, whenever one of Mundo or Sport cover Barcelona’s arch enemies, it’s always worth taking it with a pinch of salt, especially when it comes to the young midfielder, who chose Zinedine Zidane’s side over teaming up with Lionel Messi at Nou Camp.

Featuring just 19 times this season for Real Madrid, seven of which are starts, the 21-year-old has every right to be frustrated with his lack of game time, and Mundo Deportivo claimed the youngster could end up ‘forcing his departure’ in the summer, potentially on the way to Liverpool.

Well, that’s exactly what Diario Gol are reporting he’s done on Friday, telling Florentino Pérez: “I’m going to the Premier League”.

The outlet also claim the midfielder’s transfer to Liverpool is already ‘very advanced’, and a lot will depend on what Real Madrid decides at the end of the season.

However, that’s not all, and just as we thought Diario Gol might be making a little bit of sense, they decide to throw some more information in the same article that makes us lose all faith in humanity, and that’s a claim the Reds have asked about Karim Benzema.

Yes, the idea here would be for Liverpool to get the France international and Ceballos in a deal that would see Mohamed Salah head to the Bernabeu in the summer.

This is where we tap out, go to the pub and try and forget all about what we just read.
